Alberta Jobs Now Grant Info
The Alberta jobs now program is designed to make it more affordable for companies to hire and train new employees so they either re open or expand their business as the Alberta economy recovers. This will reduce hiring and training costs to create more jobs now.
All eligible employers can use this grant to help subsidize wages, or training, or both. 50 % of the funding will be received right after the new hire has started working and the other half will come after confirmation that the new hire has completed their 52 weeks of employment.
If you are an employer eligible for this grant, you can apply until August 31, 2021 for the first intake. the second will open September 15. 2021 and will close on December 31, 2021. the third will be announced later.

Once logged in to the application portal, you will be able to fill out all information. For this, you have until August 31st to fill out your first application. Alberta recommends you wait for your application approval before starting the process of hiring someone.
Once you have completed your application, you will see a Submitted status on the Summary page of the application process.
Once you are approved, you will be notified by email! Then you can start hiring and filling out the hiring information back in the online portal.
Step 1 : Create the application and obtain approval of your eligibility.

Step 2: Add the new hires that are to be submitted to the grant application
Once approved, you can start hiring your new employees. Return to your application in the online section and submit your new hires information. The new hires must be hired on or after the programs launch date.
Step 3: Add your payroll information for each new hire after 3 months of employment
This will be for your first payment.
After your new hire has worked for 3 months you can return to the online portal and submit your paystubs for each hire.
Step 4: Fill out your completion form after 52 weeks of employment
This is the final step for you!

- New hires can't be hired longer than 120 days from the application approval.
- New hire information must be filled within 30 days of the employee's date of hire.
